Lots of families are spending more time making their gardens look better than before as we are staying safe and staying home. Surprise mom with a new flower bed or veggie garden by giving her the potted flowers and or veggie pots in the shape of “M”, “O”, “M”. Then mom can plant them were she wants! Easy Ideas for Mother’s Day: High Tea
Use what you have at home! Make Scrumptious Cinnamon-Bun Muffins, add some easy cucumber sandwiches by cutting them into triangles and no crusts, and add some strawberries. Top it off with serving a MOMosa (recipe below). You can also make a yummy 5-ingredient breakfast smoothie that our family loves called the Sunshine Smoothie.
Cinnamon Bun Muffins Recipe
Ingredients:
1 box yellow cake mix
1 cup milk
1/3 cup butter at room temperature
3 eggs
1 cup packed light or dark brown sugar
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3 tablespoons butter, melted
Icing
1 ½ cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons real maple syrup
2 tablespoons milk
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Paper cup two muffin trays (24 muffins).
- In large bowl, combine the following with mixer until smooth:
1 box yellow cake mix
1 cup milk
1/3 cup butter at room temperature
3 eggs
- In small bowl, combine the following, clumps are good:
1 cup packed light or dark brown sugar
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3 tablespoons butter, melted
- Stir in half of the brown sugar mixture into the large bowl.
- Spoon batter into muffin cups only two-thirds full.
- Sprinkle each with remaining cinnamon mixture.
- Bake 12 minutes and let cool in pan 5 minutes.
- When the muffins are cooling, make the icing. Stir together the following and drizzle over the cooled muffins, and then enjoy!

This is simple! Just find a fancy glass and serve this to mom with any of the activities above! All you need is orange juice and something bubbly like Sprite or 7Up!
